PERCUSSION CLINIC ALL-STAR
REPORT
Notes from George about the
Percussion Clinic
Percussion Clinic was a rousing
success! The clinic was hosted by the Phantom Regiment and the clinician
was Paul Rennick, the Phantom Regiment percussion instructor. There were
lots of bass drummers, even more snare drummers, multi-tom players and a
couple cymbal players. Mr. Rennick started by emphasizing controlling
and placement of the sticks and mallets. Soon after starting the
students were well into the instruction and absorbing information like
sponges. It was amazing that after about sixty minutes of instruction
and learning the unity was starting to sound like one super-super-large
percussion ensemble. Many thank you's to the parents that allowed their
students to attend this enrichment endeavor. Also, thanks to the band
directors that brought their entire drum line and of course a special
thank you to the Phantom Regiment for allowing this event to take place.
